Sailyn vs Motion
Motion schedules your tasks, projects and meetings into your calendar automatically, for individuals and teams of any size. Sailyn plans one person's week too, but its focus is the moment after the plan: it shows one task, pays you for starting and runs the session.
What Motion does is described from its own public pages, checked on 19 September 2026. If something here has changed, write to us and it will be corrected.
Sailyn is our product; Motion is not.

- Shows one task at a time with the reason it was picked, so the plan is never a wall of blocks to choose from.

- Reads a connected Google or Apple calendar, or any calendar link, so that classes and meetings are planned around.
Questions people ask
Is Sailyn a free Motion alternative?
For one person, in part. Sailyn is free while it is in beta, and it does the part of Motion that a single person uses most: it plans your tasks around what is fixed in your week and re-plans when a day goes differently. It does not schedule meetings for a team, take meeting notes or run projects across several people. If you need those, Motion describes itself as built for them.
Is Sailyn good for students?
It is one of the cases it is built for: a timetable of classes, several deadlines and a week that has to hold all of them. You can import a timetable file or connect a calendar, tell it what is due, and it spreads the work across the days you actually have and says if it does not fit.
Does Sailyn put my plan in my calendar?
It can. With a Google calendar connected, Sailyn makes one calendar of its own called Sailyn and writes your plan there, and never into your own calendars. A move or a deletion you make there comes back into Sailyn.
Which one fits
If you run a team's projects and calendar, Motion describes itself as built for that. If you are one person who has the plan and still cannot start, Sailyn is built for that moment.
This page describes both products and ranks neither. Prices and plans change often, so they are not here.
Know what you need to do, but can't get started? Sailyn gives you one next step, a plan that adapts, and no penalty for difficult days.
